Wildflowers is composed of two layers of nesting circles (with “flower-bloom-augmentation”) separated by a lattice of triangulated lines. As the panels rotate, the circles seemingly “slide” past each other, devolving/shifting into a triangulated forest/matrix, only to reappear as the panel turns still more. The sculpture also puts on a bit of a “disappearing act”: as the panel turns, the large 5-1/2 by 9-1/2 foot face “shrinks” to become the one foot thick side profile, turning further to refill the wall space with the large front profile.
