Still Spinning

Location: Factoria Recycling & Transfer Station, Bellevue, WA

435 spoked wheels are added to an expansive retaining wall to create a sculptural installation, a show of implied motion. Made from 75-80% recycled stainless steel, the hard-earned, polished, and meticulously arranged objects reflect ambient light and color. Highlights and shadows appear and shift with weather and light conditions. Visually, Still Spinning strikes chords from bicycling to budding, while reflecting the choreographed motion of man and mass in the transfer station.
